Wow time has been flying! I know, I know, I say that every year but this holiday season has flown by even faster than usual. I wonder if the fairies have been speeding up time in our workshop?

I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season! We're busy packing up all your orders and I'm just starting to plan our spring promotions. It feels a little strange to jump from santa and snow to spring but you guys are going to love what we're planning.

Just a quick note, that shipping deadlines are rapidly approaching (see below). Now back to candy canes, Christmas tunes and disgruntled packing elves I go...

Christmas Delivery Deadlines:

Thursday, December 15th - Is the last day to order for Christmas delivery via any standard shipping methods including Fed Ex Ground and USPS Priority Mail.
Psst: Ordering Thursday evening - early Friday morning? We can still sneak your packages in if you get your orders to us before 10:00 am PST time on Friday 12/16.

Tuesday, December 21st - Is the last day to order for Christmas delivery via Fed Ex Express Saver.

Wednesday, December 22nd - Is the last day to order for Christmas delivery via Fed Ex Express 2 Day.

Thursday, December 23rd - Is the last day to order for Christmas delivery via Fed Ex Overnight.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Can it really be that time of year again? Christmas always sneaks up on me but this year it really feels like it should still be summer. But the Christmas decorations are out in the shops and I guess it's time to get decorating and to start gift hunting.

I'm starting to post all the holiday photos to the website and I'll share them on the blog. Our first cold rainstorm blew in this weekend and watching all the hail tumble to the ground is getting me inspired for Christmas. Even though it's not that cold, I lit the first fire of the season and have a cup of pumpkin apple cider (a wonderful creation) to toast the start of November.

While I just have an antique woodstove to keep me warm, my little gnome has a magnificent fireplace. He's toasting fairy cakes on a hot flame while his little pug munches on kibble. Doesn't this look so cozy?

Happy November and I hope everyone is enjoying the start to their winter and holiday season!

Hello everyone and Happy Halloween!

I hope you are all enjoying my favorite holiday and eating tons of tasty miniature candy! Isn't everything better in miniature?

I thought I would just add a quick post to share one of our new fairy houses. With the mushrooms that have sprouted all of my garden of late, it seems a perfect time to pay tribute to the fairy's favorite companion. Maybe all the sprouting mushrooms coincide with all the fall fae fairies crossing the realm to celebrate the harvest and winter festivities.

Watch out for all those mushroom fairy rings or you might just find yourself jumping into pile of autumn leaves instead of working.

If I could pick one genre of miniatures as a favorite, it would have to be miniature food. I love all the tiny dollhouse scale food that's so cute it looks good enough to eat. I could spend hours dreaming up miniature cafes and creating miniature gourmet feasts.

I was so delighted when I unwrapped these new miniatures from the artists at FaeKeepers, each one is full of so much magical miniature detail. I'm working on a fall/Thanksgiving inspired scene to feature these fantastic brand new miniatures but I thought I'd share the new arrivals.

Fairy Garden Harvest

I hope everyone is enjoying a magical October. I can't wait for the cool autumn breeze to roll in, it's still been pretty warm outside and I can't wait to get out in the fairy garden.

I thought I'd share a snapshot of our fall fairy gardens I've had bouncing around the Enchanted Gardens home page. Our miniature squirrels and chipmunk are storing up for the winter months. It looks like they had quite a bountiful harvest this year.

I just wanted to share some of our new products at Enchanted Gardens. I hadn't planned on photographing any of these three newbies together but they turned out to be such a perfect trio, I couldn't resist.

Our celestial fairy house is designed from durable resin with a charming cottage style roof, chimney, celestial accent, blue butterfly, hanging beads and wide opening for your toads, fairies, gnomes or any wee garden folk.

Our plane tree fairy figurine is a new addition from the timeless Flower Fairies by Mary Cicely Barker. I always marvel at the incredible craftsmanship and hand painted details. I love his whimsical little pose!

Our original style of fox was discontinued but we're thrilled to welcome our new miniature fox to the Enchanted Gardens family. Isn't he a charmer?

Hello everyone,

I'm still a little behind on the seasons this year! I feel like summer should just be starting, it's hard to believe summer is already over! While I'm still swamped with Christmas miniatures to catalog I've been enjoying adding a few fall fairy garden photos to the website.

I thought I'd share a snapshot of our little gnome visiting the pumpkin patch. Doesn't Lief the Gnome look right at home in this autumn backdrop? Did you know gnomes love roasted pumpkin seeds? Don't be surprised if you catch one of your garden gnomes sneaking up to your jack o' lanterns this fall. They need snacks for the fall football games too!

Miniature Cooking Fairy Door

Hello everyone,

I just thought I'd share a magical new addition to our Enchanted Gardens catalog - a festive miniature cooking fairy door from the talented artists at FaeKeepers. Each magical fairy door is individually handcrafted from scratch and features so many charming design details.

The Cooking Fairy Door became an instant favorite of mine the second I unwrapped it. This magical fairy door reminded me of two fantasy favorites from my childhood, Strega Nona and Marmaduke from The Little White Horse. I'd love to incorporate the miniature cooking fairy door into a miniature display or shadowbox in tribute to these two mesmerizing characters.

Strega Nona is a whimsical illustrated book that chronicles a little old witch with a magical cooking pot. Her enchanted cooking pot produces an endless supply of scrumptious pasta. Now that's a power I'd like to have! Calamity ensues when hungry Anthony takes the pot for a whirl without following instructions and falls prey to a tsunami of pasta.

I'd love to create a miniature strega nona inspired display with warm Tuscan walls, earthenware pottery, a sculpted miniature kitchen with and of course a magical miniature cooking pot.

The Little White Horse. is a fairy tale that personifies the notion of happily ever after. A story that's full of fantastic characters, I was always intrigued by Marmaduke Scarlet, the aged little elf like figure who cooks for the Merryweather Manor. Marmaduke would navigate through the manor by a network tiny doors that an adult couldn't fit through. A loquacious and eccentric little fellow he would create fantastic culinary creations in his secret kitchen with the help of his remarkable cat, Zachariah.

I'd love to create Marmaduke's domestic docile in miniature scale. I'm envisioning a cozy kitchen complete with a rustic hearth, pots and pans hanging everywhere and of course plenty of mouthwatering miniature food.

I can't wait to start creating my miniature kitchen displays but I have a hoard of miniatures waiting to be photographed and cataloged before I can start playing.

Summer Fairy Gardening

Hello!!!

We hope everyone has been enjoying their summer season! Here at Enchanted Gardens, we've been insanely busy which of course is a wonderful thing, but leads us to neglecting things like our blog and social media outlets. I hope to resume regular posting shortly. I've greatly missed all of my blogging friends, I promise to get caught up with all of you soon!

I had so much fun fun creating a miniature seaside fairy garden display our summer promotion this year. A big thank you to all our customers who purchased our beach themed miniatures. I did learn an important lesson about creating miniature beach displays; make sure your containers are watertight before you add blue food coloring to the mix. About half way through my photoshoot, a tsumani of "beach water (blue food coloring added to water) flooded my photo studio, which happens to be a pure white photo soft box.. The "I was trying to make a miniature ocean" excuse didn't fly too well when trying to explain why I had dyed everything (including the carpet blue). Oh well, live and learn!

I didn't get to go on a summer vacation but at least my little fairies and gnomes were able to enjoy a seaside retreat. Indoor fairy gardening is a wonderful way to spend time out of the heat, it's such a versatile hobby!

New Fairy Garden Furniture

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful fall weekend. Some clouds are rolling in to our fairy gardens to hopefully sweep out the last vestiges of the balmy warm weather. It's difficult to focus on Christmas time promotions when it still feels like summer out. I can't wait for that fall weather to roll in early next week.

We're busy little elves working away for Christmas time. We have tons of merchandise arrive daily to stock up for the holiday shopping season. I'm busy working on a fun little holiday advent calender for the website and some black friday specials. Where does the time fly?

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy Halloween weekend! May your Halloween be filled full of magic, terrific fun and delicious little candy bars!!

I also wanted to introduce a new fairy door from the splendid crafters at Wee Folk Outfitters - The Dragonfly Fairy Door. Fairies love flitting about the garden with dragonflies playfully diving with them to skim the water. They say that when you catch a flutter of dragonfly wings in your garden a fairy is never far behind. Dragonflies are certainly welcome visitors in our garden and the perfect way to attract fairies to visit your magical miniature gardens..

Everyone is still consumed with the chaos of the upcoming Christmas season here at Enchanted Gardens. We're slowly adding a dozen more products this week and receiving shipments of out of stock items for the holiday season.

I've been working on an exciting digital art project I'll be posting soon. It's inspired me to have a little more fun with our product photography so I'll be sharing some of our new photos on the blog the next few weeks.

I was honored at the opportunity to pitch in with our FAE TEAM fantasy exhibit that is just absolutely breathtaking. If you haven't visited it already, stop by the Moonlight Masquerade exhibit.

Dreaming of Fall

We had a tiny taste of cool weather here in California and it had me dreaming of the autumn season. I can't wait for the cool brisk autumn air, slices of heartwarming pumpkin pie and tart cranberries.

I decided to throw an impromptu fall themed miniature tea party. The photo above showcase the mini fall fun with our miniature chipmunk and miniature raccoon indulging in an afternoon tea complete with miniature pumpkin pie.

Garden Harvest - Clinger the Frog Spotted

As I was checking our garden for fresh melons and squashes to pick for lunch I spotted Clinger the Frog Figurine perched on a leaf. Doesn't he look like he's ready to spring into action?

Now our figurines are supposed to be below in the container garden but this mischievous little fellow managed to jump ship and spring up onto a leaf. He looked so lifelike in the middle of the garden I almost thought he was the real thing. Maybe the fairies lent him a helping hand?

Miles our resident fairy garden fox is always the first to welcome the new residents to our miniature fairy garden. Since he's a wonderfully nosy critter we asked him to help everyone get to know our new visitors.

Wishing a warm welcome to a new addition to our miniature fairy garden, Marco the Gnome.

Miles the Fox: "Greetings Marco, welcome to the fairy garden. Tell, me how did you get your name?"

Marco the Gnome: "Thank you, I can't tell you how happy I am to have wandered into this remarkable garden. I was named after the great traveler Marco Polo."

Miles the Fox: "Do you like to travel like your namesake?"

Marco the Gnome: "Oh absolutely! I love roaming around both the human and enchanted worlds. I've traveled all over the globe making new friends as I go. As you can see from the photograph above I am always scanning the horizon searching for new destinations to explore."

Miles the Fox: "Well it's great to get to know a world class traveler. Where was your last trip to?"

Marco the Gnome: "Well I just spent some time in an enchanted forest in Europe. That was truly a treacherous trek as I had to navigate through some really dense forest growth and got into a spot of trouble with a group of trolls. It was a fantastic voyage but I'm glad to enjoy some of this summer heat."

Miles the Fox: "That sounds exciting, where are you off to next?"

Marco the Gnome: "I plan to roam the grounds of Enchanted Gardens. I also can't wait to explore all the new homes and gardens of any Big Folk that may choose to adopt me. I look forward to meeting everyone on my journey!"

Fairy Garden Grapes

Our little August harvest continues with our grapes just beginning to turn beautiful purple shades. I think the fairies in our garden may have enchanted are grapes to keep them fairy sized because they're still very small. Small but delicious! Now we just have to try and grab a few before the rabbits, birds, deer and fairies spirit them away.

We found our little Apple Fairy Figurine harvesting tiny apples from her miniature fairy garden. She's standing by next to a small sized cantaloupe that's just about ready to be picked. We'll have to make sure the fairies don't steal any of this delicious melon!!

Fairies and enchanted wee garden folk love fresh fruits and veggies. With a careful eye you might just be able to catch sight of them hovering in the vegetable leaves or fluttering by a late harvest bloom. Planting fresh fruits and veggies is a terrific way to entice the magical fae to visit your gardens.

My favorite things about gardening is indulging in fresh veggies picked straight from the vine. Even the best looking veggies in the supermarket can ever compare to sun ripened veggies straight from your own garden. Everyone's crops are a little behind schedule this year from all the strange weather but the harvest is finally starting. I hope you all get to enjoy some mouthwatering treats from your garden this year!

Holy Cow!! It's already Friday. Where does the time go? And where did this summer vanish to? It seems that time is flying by even faster than usual. As a retail merchant we're busily preparing for Christmas which seems absolutely insane. It's hard to think imagine jolly old St. Nick bundled up in red fleece and snowy meadows when it's still sizzling hot outside.

I just wanted to take a moment to say that I hope everyone enjoyed (and is still enjoying) a magical summer. We have a series of blog posts chronicling our late fairy garden veggie harvest so stop by and visit our blog throughout August.

Tim the Fairy: "I play a little fairy lute I fashioned from an enchanted tree branch. You can see me strumming it in the photo above, in fact I never put my lute down."

"Fairy music is the most enchanted form of music on earth. Only the fae understand its complex secrets. Fairy music sounds unique to each person as it takes the form of the listener's favorite music. You see, fairy music isn't the easiest thing to hear. Believers in magic may only hear a few notes or a snippet of a melody in the breeze. The purest of heart can follow these lyrical fragments until they unearth an entire fairy orchestra. A fairy orchestra is a delightful thing to behold and you'll become enraptured with pure sound. Big Folk (i.e humans) may become so entranced they can spend the entire day lost in song and dance."

Miles the Fox: "Well that certainly sounds wonderful, I look forward to hearing your music in the fairy garden. Any tips on how newcomers and the Big Folk can hear your music?"

Tim the Fairy: "Absolutely! Jut clear your mind of ordinary thoughts and take a stroll outside in the garden. Close your eyes and listen to the melody of the breeze, concentrate on the beauty of nature and the whispering of all the magical fae folk. In no time at all you'll be following fairy footsteps to the enchanted realm of fairy music. I look forward to seeing you all there!"

Springing into Spring

Hello everyone! I hope the spring weather is starting to trickle down to your fairy gardens!

Sorry to be away from blogger for so long. Seized by delusions of grandeur, I attempted to install a wordpress blog on my server and managed to melt down my entire site. Now that I'm done destroying things (I hope!) I can return to working on the site and blog.

Spring brings an explosion of wildflowers to our fairy garden and over the next few weeks I'll share the progression of spring with you.

Surviving January

It's hard to believe January is at an end.... Time sure is flying by in this new year!

I'm happy to report the sun is finally shining again. After 7 days and 12 inches of rain (unusual for California weather) I was starting to tear my hair out. It's hard to focus on gardening with everything underwater but the rain does leave everything so beautiful. Even the grass is a blur of motion (picture above) as the water drains. I love how everything looks so fresh and new after the storms and the fresh mountain air is intoxicating today.

I hope everyone's fairy gardens weathered the wild winter storms. A good chunk of our miniature fairy gardens are underwater or washed out in the mudslides. We had a little fun in the rain and took a picture of our fairies preparing for the storm.

To all our fairy garden buddies in cyberspace, let me know how your gardens are doing.

The website updates are turning out far more complicated than I had anticipated so we're busy plugging away at coding all of our new features. Hope to see significant progress shortly on our new shop by scale feature.

We have so many new exciting products on the way I can't wait to share with you guys. They're so adorable I'm attempted to abandon all the work and go play. Hmmm, now that the sun is out maybe I can steal a few moments? Just don't tell the fairies!

Ringing in the New Year

It's hard to believe another year has come and gone. I still find it hard to believe we're halfway through January already!

Can you believe Christmas is almost here??? I'm still having a difficult time comprehending that 2009 has almost come to an end..

We've been working away like crazy here at Enchanted Gardens. The fireplace is roaring, Christmas music is blasting and we're packing all your Christmas gifts like little elves. Remember, standard shipping deadlines are rapidly approaching so be sure to place your order in the next few days for guaranteed standard delivery.

I enjoyed the first snowstorm of the year. So fun to see the garden covered in a fresh blanket of snow. The poor little finches (pictured above) were definitely not excited to see the snow. I can't say I would be terribly excited about hanging on a finch sock eating seed in a winter gale either.

We're also busy working on 2010 with new shopping features, a new look and new product. You'll find new miniature gargoyles, fairies, castles, new handcrafted small fairy houses, unicorns, mushrooms and even a frog prince.

We've been swamped in the wonderful chaos of Christmas here and have everyone working overtime to ship Christmas packages.

We've posted our Christmas ordering deadlines.

Fed Ex Ground and Fed Ex Home Delivery:

Order up until December 16th for guaranteed Christmas delivery. Orders must be received prior to 2:00 pm PST.

Fed Ex 2 Day:

Order up until December 21st for guaranteed Christmas delivery. Orders must be received prior to 2:00 pm PST.

Fed Ex Overnight:

Order up until Dec 22nd for guaranteed Christmas delivery. Orders must be received prior to 2:00 pm PST.

USPS Priority Mail:

Hello everyone! I apologize for being so quiet lately but rest assured we have been busy! We're working on a terrific holiday sale, our version of a Black Friday... Hmmm, maybe we should call it a green Friday?

The other half of Enchanted Gardens participated in a wonderful boutique in Fresno, CA over the weekend. Great fun and a pleasure to meet fellow local fairy gardeners.

We are now working overtime to bring you our spectacular new savings just in time for the holidays. We have dozens of one of a kind handcrafted fairy houses going on super sale. Look for huge discounts on new limited edition miniatures, discontinued fairy figurines, garden decor, and more. It's going to be spectacular! With winter around the corner it's the perfect time to star creating your enchanted miniature landscapes. We love creating moss filled enchanted miniature terrariums and created some brand new handcrafted terrarium miniatures.

There's just something so magical about having a little enchanted lush green garden on your table top during the bleak winter months. They're a great project for kids and gifting as unique Christmas and holiday gifts.

We put together a little guide for how to create a simple moss terrarium. The terrific thing about terrariums is you can create them from virtually anything you have on hand, they're limited only to your imagination and creativity. Have fun creating!

Here in CA we often hurtle straight into winter so it's always fantastic when we get a to enjoy a little bit of delightful fall weather.

Monarch Fairy Garden Visitors

Our fairy gardens were alive with visitors today! A gorgeous assortment of Monarch Butterflies and little Painted Ladies fluttered about the aptly named Butterfly Bush in our miniature fairy gardens.

It's been a delight to watch these colorful little butterflies flutter through our fairy garden as they move south for the winter. I imagine their presence is a signal that cool fall weather is on the horizon.

Fairies love butterflies even more than we do and planting butterfly friendly plants is a a sure way to attract fairies into your gardens.

Fairy Housing Market Crisis

Finch Family

I always like to sit out back early in the morning, watching all the birds in our gardens. We have an abundance of yellow finches that like to feed on a thistle sock feeder I have hung up on a nearby tree. Yesterday, I heard a small thud and one of the finches had accidentally flew into our window! He was stunned and dazed for a few moments, and I watched as he starting hopping out towards were the feeder was hung. He was too dazed to fly, so I walked close by him to make sure he was OK. He stopped next our rosemary bushes, and at that moment about half a dozen other finches landed around him, as if to protect him! I was only a few feet away from him as the finches landed close by, and I slowly backed away. The dazed finch finally came out of his funk, and all of them flew away at the same time. I know my finch friend will be OK, as the rest of his family will see to that!

Squirrel Vandal

We recently purchased wicker outdoor furniture for our back patio. Since then, we had noticed part of one chair leg that was constantly coming undone. We had tried everything we knew of to keep it tight, but it always was coming unwrapped. Yesterday, as we were getting set to have our Labor Day BBQ, we found out why it had kept coming undone. It appears this tree squirrel has been the culprit, and we now have the evidence to prove it.

I have since gone to our local feed store for squirrel food.

A week or so ago, we had an extremely lazy rabbit watching us from underneath our Wisteria tree. We would walk by and he just seemed to not mind having us around him. I have since named him E.G. (short for Enchanted Gardens, of course.) Now, he comes running towards us whenever we are out and about, and even our postal drivers have grown attached to him. This morning, my wife was working in the barn on a few new buildings for the fall, and E.G. hopped over and kept her company. I guess he has become our new mascot. As you can see, he loves to have his picture taken-and he is quite the handsome fellow!

Peacock Visitor

We often have many visitors at Enchanted Gardens, but this handsome guy caught everyone off guard. I was just about to sit down for breakfast when I saw this Peacock staring into our sliding glass door (obviously admiring himself). He was very friendly, so we knew he was someones pet. He would follow us around while we worked, and didn't seem afraid at all. We gave him food and water and he stayed for a few days. Many of the homes around us are on large parcels, and it turned out his home was just a few miles down the road. I admit, I did enjoy having him around while we worked in our miniature gardens!

Miniature Food

I am continually amazed at how life-like many of our miniature food items are. From cakes to a large assortment of fruits and vegetables, our Fairies and Gnomes always have plenty to eat. I remember we were 'dog sitting' our neighbors Labrador, Lady, and she was intently watching as we were packing up an order of miniature bread loaves for a customer in the mid-west. As luck would have it, the loaf jumped out (with the help of a mischievous Fairy perhaps?) and landed right in front of Lady. She quickly pounced but was a second too late as I grabbed the loaf on a bounce. Lady's disappointment was quickly eased when her loaf was replaced by a proper treat, but I will never forget the look on her face when she felt she had been cheated!

I can't believe we are in late August; didn't 2009 just begin a few weeks ago? How time flies. Everyone at Enchanted Gardens has been hard at work, gearing up for the Holiday Season. Many of our fairy gardening and crafting friends have been hard at work as well; we are already planning our winter craft fair! When I was young, time always seemed to drag; now, it seems there are never enough hours in the day!

It seems like it has been a long Summer!! At Enchanted Gardens, we usually don't see rain from June through mid-October, so water can be an issue. We always put water out for many of our animal friends, and some become tamer than most. This rabbit, trying to cool off under our Wisteria tree, was quite relaxed and seemed to pose for this photo. As we were lugging out packages to ship, this guy seemed to be supervising us (reminds me of a past boss or two!). Hope you enjoy this photo as much as we did!

Curious Coastal Animal

Whenever my wife and I have time away from Enchanted Gardens, you will often find us over at our home away from home, the Central Coast. We always enjoy taking long strolls along the beach, and also visiting many of our gardening friends. We always look forward to seeing seals, whales, dolphins and an abundance of birds. On our way home this morning, however, nothing could compare to a beautiful Mountain Lion that sprinted across the road in front of us! We often have big cats at our home in the mountains, but to see this cat just outside the coastal town of Cambria, California was a real treat indeed. I guess you never know when a camera would come in handy!

AUTUMN FUN

Even though it is mid August, I find it is never to early to fantasize about the up coming cool weather. Autumn is my favorite time of year, with the cool weather and fall colors. Did I mention cool weather more than once? You bet, as we at Enchanted Gardens have been suffering through a mini-heat wave. Even our Gnomes and Fairies have been complaining about the heat this summer, so we all decided to take a break and introduce our first Fall item for 2009. Our newest Forest Ent Door is now available, and we enjoyed creating and staging him for our web-site. We hope you enjoy him as much as we do! I guess it is never to early to dream about Fall.

With most of our garden brown and withered during the hot summer months this lovely Echinacea is a refreshing sight in our summer gardens.

Planting herbs is a perfect way to attract fairies into your garden. Before modern medicine herbs were an essential element of any garden. Gardeners would leave out sparkling little trinkets in their herb gardens in hopes that the fairies would protect their sought after herbs.

The birds love the echinacea as much as the fairies do, they go crazy when the coneflowers give away their tiny seeds. Who knew echinacea was a highly coveted bird gourmet cuisine?

Toad Inspired Miniature Container Garden

Hello everyone!

Spring is on the horizon and I can't wait to work on our miniature fairy gardens. It's a tricky time of year for delicate miniature gardening, the warm weather has you itching to start planting but Mother Nature always has a few late season freezes up her sleeve.

This Spring, we've been working on enchanted miniature container gardens that will allow us to shelter the miniature gardens if a sudden cold spell surprises us.

Here's the first of our container cards, a magical miniature toad inspired garden scene. After the weather warms, our garden is literally crawling with frogs and you can hardly hear anything above the lovely melody of croaking frogs.

For this magical miniature scene, we simply took an ordinary terracotta garden pot and filled with soil, miniature plants, our handcrafted toad house and a collection of magical miniatures. We just planted the miniature ground cover and it will quickly fill in and creep across the container trailing over the edge.

What's New

Hello Everyone,

We can't wait for the weather to clear and begin sharing some of our exciting new miniature garden container projects. We have a whole forest of tiny miniature trees, ground cover and tiny plants clustered on a windowsill waiting for the winter chill to subside. With a few more snow storms on the horizon we're afraid to plant our new enchanted miniature garden scenes just yet. I just can't wait for some better gardening weather!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to take a moment to post that our Christmas fairy garden is now up and we have some wonderful winter themed enchanted miniature garden fairy houses this year.

We had such a blast setting up our miniature scenes using ordinary batting for snow. We centered this year's theme around a Christmas mouse and it's such a magical little display it will be perfect to spread the Christmas cheer!

Where did the time go?

Sigh, where did the time go this year? I can't believe we're already into November!! I haven't had much time to add new additions to my fairy garden this year but I hope to find a little time during the lovely fall weather.

We have a front flower bed that is overflowing with wildflowers in spring but looked a little barren during the winter. We decided to create a winter cabbage garden and created these enchanted garden ornaments. We love collecting the "tree faces" (is there a technical term for them?) and have them scattered throughout the yard. We put them to work in our garden and I think they look fantastic!! I think in the spring we may but a fern or long flowing plant on top to simulate feathery hair.

New Mushroom Miniature Gnome Garden

We started creating a miniature gnome mushroom scene along our front walkway that we wanted to share with you! Our goal is to create a variety of enchanted miniature vignettes along the way to our miniature fairy garden pond. It just goes to show that you can have enchanted miniature scenes wherever you go in any type of terrain.

Our miniature gnome mushroom garden starts with our large garden mushroom that was created by a local artist from burned pvc material.

Our miniature gnome garden features our handcrafted concrete mushroom houses, miniature fencing, pathways of enchanted stones and our miniature gnome figurines nestled on a bed of natural green moss.

Our little gnome mushroom garden is still a work in progress but it's fun to have enchanted miniature gardens where you least expect it!

Tiny Fairy Gardens

Summer is always a challenging season to fairy garden but this year has been extraordinarily difficult. On top of our normal heat, we've been covered in smoke from a series of wildfires virtually all summer. The combination of smoke and heat has not left me very motivated to work outside and my fairy gardens have certainly suffered as a consequence.

I went to work brainstorming and I came up with the idea that I would start creating everything even smaller than I normally do. I wanted to create a series of fairy houses, fairy doors and miniature accessories that would fit into tiny garden containers. I also wanted a tiny line of fairy garden accessories to fit into the hollows of trees and stumps to have secret enchanted worlds where you least expect it.

I began by hand sculpting a large variety of items from tiny houses, fairy doors, bird baths, bridges, wells, and miniature accessories and then cast them in resin. I played around with a variety of mixtures and found a fantastic resin blend that is incredibly durable and perfect for outdoor gardens. I've been having a lot of fun creating this new line (Wee Wishes ™) and can't wait to share all these tiny minis and scenes with you.

Here's to creating itsy bitsy tiny fairy gardens!! Anyone else create fairy gardens on a tiny scale? I'd love to hear your ideas, this is becoming quite addictive!!

Fairies in the Wind

As I was photographing our newest fairy garden gifts that features the beautiful saying: "A rustle in the wind reminds us a fairy is near." It was a perfectly still summer afternoon and all of a sudden a wind roared through our fairy garden whipping dried leaves everywhere! This was the only photo that didn't have bits of debris swirling around the camera lens. After the wind rushed through the garden everything was completely still again. I wonder, could the saying be true? What do you guys think?

Miniature Meerkat

I'm always looking for new and creative additions to our enchanted outdoor gardens. In addition to our traditional fairy and gnome gardens, our magical miniature animal garden has to be one of my favorite sections of our garden. While in the past I have stuck to traditional forest and garden animals I couldn't resist expanding our enchanted miniature animal garden a bit further.

I have to admit that I love the TV show Meerkat Manor and I had to build a miniature meerkat section. I've just started planning out our new miniature scene so I'll keep you posted as it develops. So far I've designated a sandy section and have begun to create miniature meerkat mounds.

Our New Fairy Garden Friend!

Look who moved into our fairy garden!!

Our garden is always filled to the brim with rabbits. They enjoy munching on all of our fairy garden plants and eating the bird seed the squirrels and birds knock to the ground.

This tiny little fellow is friendlier than most! He's made his home in a thick bed of moss under one of our large fairy garden mushroom. I guess the moss must feel like a mattress. He'll hop right up to you and seems to love our fairy garden. He must have befriended a few fairies. You can see a hint of a water bowl as we've even been giving him ice water in our 100 degree hot weather.

We just had to share our baby rabbit new fairy garden friend!

Fairy Garden Meditation Shed

Hello everyone!! It's been difficult working on garden projects now that the summer heat is here! We did have a touch of more moderate weather that allowed us to work on our new shed that's along the path of our fairy garden.

We recently upgraded to a larger shed and decided to turn our smaller older shed into a meditation spot to relax and admire our miniature gardens and the family of squirrels that live nearby. The inside of the shed was horribly tarnished so it needs quite a bit of work and restoration. We thought it would be fun to share the progress so far.

Here's a before picture of the shed...

Our first project is to create a custom concrete front patio portion so we set to work creating unique one of a kind stepping stones to decorate our walkway. We're going to connect our handcrafted concrete stepping stones together like a mosaic filling in the gaps with gravel and decorative stone. Here's a few of our stepping stones in progress.

Next we had to do something about the drab unfinished wood interior walls. We covered the walls with bamboo panels creating a light atmosphere.

We covered the roof in scalloped rolls of this gorgeous fabric that catches the light of the sun.

We still have a long way to go but it's shaping up to be quite a magical little garden space. We can't wait until it's finished so we can enjoy relaxing in our new little meditation shed overlooking our fairy gardens. I'll post more pictures as our project progresses. Squirrel Invasion

I thought squirrels were supposed to frolic alongside the fairies not destroy their homes! An ever growing troupe of ground squirrels is rapidly destroying our garden. We are always adding unusual items to our garden and added this large squirrel to our driveway display. We placed a huge squirrel sculpture (pictured above) on pine tree stump surrounded by large pine cones.

We unwittingly created a squirrel Mecca!! The squirrels created an architectural sprawling squirrel den behind the squirrel garden ornament and now we're overrun with ground squirrels. Whenever you walk by our squirrel display the little ground squirrels and chatter at you it sounds like an army of small piercing car alarms!

The squirrel's den is really quite astounding, they seem to be moving fallen branches around to make miniature fencing. You can just catch a glimpse of their den behind the squirrel statue below. While its entertaining to watch the ground squirrels scurry about, they're destroying our fairy gardens and eating pounds of birdseed. The joys of gardening I suppose!

Fairy Garden Crash Landing

Look who crash landed into our miniature fairy garden! We love these little aliens and couldn't resist adding them to our enchanted gardens. We created this miniature scene along a walkway that leads to our miniature fairy garden pond.

Our enchanted alien garden scene was so much fun to create! We sectioned off a small area with river rock and then added ordinary sand. We situated our miniature ufo and aliens around a large piece of soft rock we broke into pieces. A scattering of miniature faux cacti complete this unusual miniature garden creation!

We love the expression on these two miniature aliens. One is scratching his head in wonderment pondering how he managed to crash their space vehicle. The other alien figurine is pictured glowering at her male counterpart perhaps angry that he didn't ask for directions during their intergalactic flight.

With summer just around this corner, this miniature garden scene fits right in and doesn't require any watering or maintenance.

Welcome Aboard!

It's hard to believe it's almost summer! Our recent heat wave in the high 90's sure drove that point home quite nicely though. Right now I'm just making sure our fairy gardens are staying adequately hydrated and so far they seem to be transitioning to the hot summer weather better than I am.

We're always snapping photographs in our miniature fairy gardens, whether we're photographing new products or recording the magical scenery. Perhaps we caught an image of a fairy the little fae didn't want us to see because our beloved digital camera suddenly crashed. Out of the blue the camera refuses to take pictures, transfer photos or conjure the LCD screen. It's definitely bizarre! Anyone good at fixing digital cameras? :>)

We're still working hard away at Enchanted Gardens but wanted to add a quick post that were thrilled to offer a selection of magical detailed miniature buildings by a new artist. These miniature buildings are created on a slightly larger scale than many of our miniature buildings and would create the perfect focal point to any miniature garden. I can't wait for all of these tiny gnomes to arrive back in stock next week. I'll be looking at them with different eyes, these little gnomes sure are photogenic in the right hands, I'm quite impressed!

Where did the spring go?

Somehow it always seems that the most garden friendly weather also happens to be the busiest! April and May have just been a whirlwind of activity but we've slowly been adding to our miniature fairy gardens. I'd love to see how your fairy gardens have progressed, feel free to drop me a line.

I'll be sharing some of our fairy garden developments shortly but thought I would share what's been going on with our business over the next few posts. We test all of our fairy garden products in our own fairy gardens and if the fairies give our new products a four star review we add our miniature garden accessories to our product line. We look for imperfections in the products just so we have an excuse to add them to our gardens.

One product I'm absolutely crazy about is our new line of miniature miniature flower accessories. I can't get enough of these brilliantly colored detailed miniature flowers and accessories. As someone who frequently handcrafts minis from clay, I'm blown away by the detail of these adorable miniatures. The leaves and tiny flowers are incredibly realistic and detailed. These adorable miniature flower accessories provide an instant infusion of color to your green fairy gardens display.

We'll definitely be expanding this stunning collection of miniature flowers. I've added these charming miniatures all over my fairy gardens, miniatures, and even my dollhouse. I only wish my live full scale plants looked like this! At least I don't have to worry about watering or pruning these adorable miniature flowers.

The same magical realistic detail is also featured in our new miniature vegetable patch and miniature cakes that look absolutely good enough to eat. We had secured our organic vegetables behind a fenced gate but the rabbits still somehow managed to sneak in and consume all of our lettuce and peas as soon as they started to sprout. At least the fairies will have an enchanted vegetable patch to tend!

Rest assured that while we've quieter than normal, we've been busily working away on new and improved fairy garden products. We're continuing to add our new line of fairy garden products and we'll be sending out our mailing list email letter shortly. We can't wait to resume work on our personal fairy gardens and sharing our adventures with you. I've missed chatting with all of you!
